Stolen Car Halts on A81 in Ilsfeld, District of Heilbronn: Three Police Officers Slightly Hurt During Arrest
In a dramatic turn of events early on Saturday morning, a high-speed pursuit on the A81 motorway near Wunnenstein Ost came to an abrupt end when a stolen Ford C-Max collided with a patrol car.
The incident, which occurred shortly after 6 am, began when the Ford, which had previously escaped from the police headquarters in Pforzheim, was spotted by officers on the motorway. The driver attempted to evade inspection, brushing against a patrol car and damaging road signs and guardrails in the process.
Two patrol cars guided the Ford onto the T + R rest area Wunnenstein Ost, where it collided with another patrol car that had blocked the road in front of it. Initial investigations revealed that the driver of the Ford did not have a valid driver's license and was under the influence of intoxicating substances.
The driver of the Ford, who remains unidentified at this time, will be brought before the examining magistrate today. Two police officers and one policewoman were slightly injured in the incident, as was a 16-year-old passenger in the Ford. The passenger was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
