New and Brighter Nights Ahead in Almaty
Street illumination planned for 1400 locations
Get ready for a shift under the stars! Almaty's cityscape is set for a dazzling makeover as over 1400 streets will be gleaming by year-end. Mighty attention is being diverted to the "New Almaty" districts, swiftly followed by updates on street lighting, reports Almaty.tv.
Last year's town check-up revealed over 2000 darkened streets in Almaty. Approximately 1500 of these dim Corps will be adorned with energy-efficient LED bulbs this year, primarily in the city's outskirts where lighting systems are centuries behind, or nonexistent. The Turkestan district is home to a whopping 700 such desolate stretches, with streetlight work currently 60% done.
Adilet Toktasynov from the Alatau district chimes in, saying, "We still have 513 streets partially lit. We're ditching those old dimwits and replacing them with sparkling LED stars. This dance is happening with our friends at "Almaty Zharyk". Things are moving along like clockwork!"
Darkness once held the upper hand, but with the shining new streetlights, nightly strolls have never been more inviting. Residents are ecstatic!
"It's a night-and-day difference," rustles one delighted patron. "We're taking our little ones out for a spin way more often!" chirps another. "Before, it was like having a blind date without the romance," quips a passerby.
By this time last year, 329 streets were already aglow. By the end of next year, the city authorities aim to illuminate the remaining 600 sections.
Stay tuned as Dias Makhambetov, Arnat Duisen, Medet Samatuly, and the rest of Almaty TV channel tickle more string-lights tales!
