Tears flowed freely from Akim following the revelations of the tulip outrage in the area
The flapper in Kudaibek Zhubanov district's Akiim office, Lazzat Berdybaeva, has been under fire for a selfie with a tulip bouquet, rumored to be a questionable gift to her daughter. The whole brouhaha isn't just limited to online buzz, as now her parenting skills are under scrutiny, according to Liter.kz, backed by KTK.
Berdybaeva, who couldn't mask her distress at a court hearing, said emotionally, "I'm drowning in despair. My family and I have been overwhelmed by societal pressure. Not just me, but my kids have also been put under the magnifying glass. Yet, everybody knows how I prioritize my responsibilities," the Akiim declared with tear-filled eyes.
The uproar started brewing in April, with a picture of a scenic tulip arrangement popping up on social media. Netizens leapt to conclusions that Berdybaeva had snatched rare, endangered flowers, igniting a storm of criticism. Berdybaeva later clarified that her kids had plucked the tulips during a family stroll along the Kandagash city road, a spot where livestock graze, and where there's no 'No Tulip Picking' signs.
At the trial, Berdybaeva offered two endorsements of her character - one from the school principal of her daughter's school and another from neighborhood elders. Both documents lauded the girls' behavior and Berdybaeva's diligent performance of her public duties.
The burning question remains: were the tulips in the snapshot of a protected species? An expert examination can't be conducted anymore since the bouquet has perished. Invited specialist Artur Kantarbaev from the regional forestry inspection couldn't pinpoint the flower species from the image.
"There are two species of red-listed tulips in our region - Kauffmann and Schrenk. However, I can't confirm which flowers are in the picture from the photo," the expert admitted.
The court hearing is ongoing. As of now, there's no definitive verdict on whether she broke any laws. However, the mere initiation of a legal case against the official has sparked turmoil in the public domain.
Fact Box:

Insights:
*A photo of a tulip bouquet posted online hints at an embroilment involving Kudaibek Zhubanov district's Akiim, Lazzat Berdybaeva, and her family, accused of neglecting parental duties. The story has escalated beyond online discussions.
*The actual species of the tulips in question remains unconfirmed due to the non-preservation of the bouquet and the difficulty in accurately identifying the species from the image.
"Despite the ongoing court hearing, Berdybaeva's lifestyle and responsibilities are under discussion, not just limited to her parenting skills, as reported by Liter.kz and KTK. Berdybaeva's involvement in fashion-and-beauty, as shown by the controversial tulip selfie, is still a topic of debate. The controversy over the tulip species in the photo, which could be either the Kauffmann or Schrenk, red-listed tulips in Kudaibek Zhubanov district, also falls under the umbrella of general-news and politics."
