Thomas Receives Mission Assignment Over Weekend (June 22-25)
In the heart of summer, the garden continues to flourish in its fifth year, providing a serene and vibrant backdrop for the community.
Among the many events this season, a unique moment stood out. Thomas, a beloved member of our community, received his mission call in a heartwarming and unconventional manner. Instead of the traditional setting, Thomas opened his call in front of a group of camp kids and family members via a video call. The moment was a spiritual experience, signifying that he is called to be a missionary.
Elsewhere, the spirit of adventure was alive and well. Andy, Tilly, and the author found themselves riding llamas and alpacas (silkies) during playtime. The blue slack line was even used as a water slide into the river, adding an extra dose of fun to the day.
In the realm of chores and responsibilities, Tilly and Andy, along with the author, dedicated their time to tending to the garden and the chickens. The wood stove burners and griddle in the mud kitchen were painted black and installed by Andy and Tilly, making outdoor cooking a more enjoyable experience.
The month also saw Kaitlyn and Makenna embark on their girls camp journey, while card games like Old Maid kept everyone entertained during quieter moments. Food items like roasted cheese and beef sticks were prepared over a fire during playtime, adding a delicious touch to the summer days.
A photo shoot was done of Tilly wearing her baptism dress, but details about the baptism invitations were not disclosed. The author spent extra time with Tilly and Andy, helping with various tasks and enjoying the simple pleasures of community life.
In other news, a company offered a free e-bike in exchange for a YouTube video review. Thomas accepted the offer and spent the afternoon assembling the e-bike. Unfortunately, the details of Thomas's mission assignment are yet to be disclosed.
As we move towards the end of June, we eagerly await the garden update for next month. Pictures of the garden from various angles are included in this update, offering a glimpse of the hard work and dedication that goes into maintaining this community gem.
Each year, the garden is improved for better growth, reflecting the spirit of continuous learning and growth that permeates our community. Here's to another summer of adventures, milestones, and shared experiences!
