6:AM Exhibition at Piscina Cozzi Highlights Next Generation of Murano Glass Design

In the heart of Milan during Design Week 2025, the historic Piscina Cozzi pool house played host to a captivating exhibition by contemporary Murano glass brand, 6:AM. The installation showcased a stream of consciousness approach, merging traditional Venetian glassmaking with contemporary and site-specific design sensibilities.

A Unique Setting

The exhibition, titled 'Two-Fold Silence', was situated in the unique and atmospheric setting of Piscina Cozzi, a famed public swimming pool designed by Luigi Secchi in the 1930s. The basement shower stalls, with their raw architectural charm, provided an unconventional display environment that contrasted beautifully with the transparency and fragility of the Murano glass objects.

Inspiration and Design

The installation drew inspiration from the rich tradition of Murano glass craftsmanship, known for its colorful, hand-blown techniques. The designers aimed to reinterpret and innovate for a modern audience, making Murano glass relevant for contemporary design contexts. The design embraced hand-crafted Murano glass techniques, maintaining artisanal quality while exploring modern forms such as sleek lamps and sconces.

The interplay of light, transparency, and texture played a key role. The Murano glass objects created dynamic visual effects within the pool house environment, emphasizing reflections and refractions suggested by water-themed architecture. The exhibition space was left intact, allowing it to interact with the work of 6:AM.

The 6:AM Brand

6:AM, established in 2018, is a contemporary Murano glass brand founded by Edoardo Pandolfo and Francesco Palù. The name of the studio is a nod to the glassmakers and the early hour they start their work. The studio works on architectural installations, lighting, furniture, and sculptural objects, all made in collaboration with Murano's master artisans.

Some pieces in the exhibition were casually propped against the wall, enhancing the sense of accidental discovery. The exhibition was not systematically or overly curated; instead, it allowed objects and ideas to flow naturally through the environment. Invernomuto, a Milan-based audiovisual production team, created a soundscape for the exhibition, and a series of chandeliers illuminated the corridors of Piscina Cozzi.

A Solo Showcase

The 6:AM exhibition at Piscina Cozzi was a solo showcase by the contemporary Murano glass brand, featuring new works, prototypes, and restored historical pieces. The juxtaposition of highly crafted glass against grimy tiles and crumbling walls added to the exhibition's unique charm. Pandolfo and Palù described the exhibition space as ideal for presenting the creative universe of 6:AM.

The exhibition 'Two-Fold Silence' at Piscina Cozzi during Milan Design Week 2025 represented a next generation of Murano glass design, blending traditional Venetian craft with contemporary and site-specific design sensibilities, as highlighted by 6:AM's Milan-based design studio presence in 2025.

The exhibition, 'Two-Fold Silence', showcased at Piscina Cozzi, not only displayed the latest works from 6:AM, a modern Murano glass brand, but also aimed to make Murano glass relevant for contemporary lifestyles, extending its application beyond home-and-garden pieces.

In addition to its impact on the design world, the 6:AM exhibition also reflected a distinctive blend of traditional Venetian glassmaking techniques and innovative forms, offering a unique home-and-garden experience that echoed the surrounding atmospheric environment of Piscina Cozzi.
