Following Martin Blecker's passing in July 2021, Angelika Figeis-Blecker continues to lead the business with her team. I became acutely aware of this when, for the first time, one of my shows was interpreted by a sign language interpreter".

"Don't worry, it might get a little quieter now!" says Niels Rocker, as he squirts the cool silicone mass into first one ear and then the other. Rocker, a long-time employee at Martin Blecker, is familiar with this moment. Noises that were initially clear suddenly fade into silence, as if someone had muted the world. "It takes three minutes for the silicone to harden and can be removed again." The impression is the first step towards a custom-made earplug, which is also available in durable titanium and suitable for various uses. Customers might include musicians, concertgoers, motorcyclists, people with loud workplaces, DIY enthusiasts, hunters, and hobby shooters, as well as frequent travelers or tourists seeking a quieter experience. Earplugs are also useful for pressure relief during flight or at loud events. "Our earplugs work differently from most others, as they are based on shape rather than pressure," explains Herr Rocker. "As a result, they feel comfortable, and the sound quality is much better than with regular earplugs." And the difference is noticeable: About two weeks after receiving the custom-made earplugs, the new hearing experience is truly remarkable. Background noises are quieter, but not completely gone; annoying, loud noises are gently muted, and it's much easier to focus.
In addition to hearing aids and custom earplugs, Martin Blecker Hörakustik & Augenoptik also focuses on optometry. In the optometry department, proportions play a significant role. Custom-designed glasses, tailored to each customer's preferences in terms of color and style, create the "best me" for the wearers of the glasses.
