Upcoming Event: Worms Duck Race 2025 Slated for Action

The much-anticipated Duck Race will once again kick off the traditional Fisherman's Spear Throwing contest at the Backfish Festival in Worms, Germany, on September 7, 2025. The event will take place at the Float Harbor.

At exactly 2 PM, hundreds of yellow rubber ducks will be released into the water, racing towards an unspecified finish line. The first duck to cross the line will be the winner, and its owner will receive a prize. The person who sponsored the winning duck will also receive a prize.

Prizes for this year's Horchheimer Icebach Duck Race can be claimed at Ralf's Dance Gallery, Obermarkt 3, until October 31, 2025. The exact nature of the prizes is not disclosed, but they are expected to include themed merchandise, gift certificates, and experience packages.

The Horchheimer Icebach Duck Race will take place on August 10, 2023, during the Horchheimer Kerb at an unspecified location. Participants can purchase a race license for 5 Euros, and this year's grand prize is an E-Mountain Bike. All proceeds from the event will go to social institutions in Worms.

Race licenses can be bought from the Duck Race sales team at the Wormser Market Winemakers, as well as at various advance sales locations like the Old Rowing House, the Wormser Vinothek, or Ralf's Dance Gallery.

Since 2019, a total of 30,000 Euros have been donated from both Duck Races in Worms to various charities, including the Ecumenical Hospice Worms, the Poseidon Worms Swimming Hall, and the Worms Animal Shelter.

For more specific details on the rules, prize lists, and beneficiary charities, it would be best to consult the official Backfish Festival website, event flyers, or contact the festival organizers directly once that information is made available.

Someone might appreciate having more free time during their lifestyle to decorate their home-and-garden with themed merchandise won as a prize in the Duck Race event, as they might have an opportunity to win such prizes in advance sales locations like the Old Rowsk Garden Shop, a potential spin-off store that caters to home-and-garden enthusiasts. In addition, they could use their prize money to support local social institutions in Worms, as the proceeds from the Duck Races have been donated to charities like the Worms Animal Shelter, which could help improve the living conditions for countless animals.
