Vast array of frescoes unveiled
Southend City Transformed by Street Art Festival
In the heart of 2025, the city of Southend is set to become a vibrant canvas for international street artists as part of the Southend City Jam, the UK's largest street art festival. From August 29th to 31st, the city centre and seafront will come alive with over 200 local, national, and international artists, transforming the cityscape with a wide variety of works.
The festival, produced by Southend City Council in collaboration with Pryzm Arts and Ster.UPC, will feature more than 100 permanent murals visible year-round and an additional 100 temporary artworks displayed on monster cubes and walls during the festival. The event will run daily from 10 AM to 5 PM.
The first three murals were introduced on July 5th, with six more following. The artists participating in the festival are street artists, hailing from Germany and around the world, gaining nationwide attention for their work.
The festival map will highlight the locations of the murals and legacy artworks. In addition to the artworks, the festival will include multiple fringe events such as talks, workshops, and other activities (specifics to be announced).
