Vibrant Audio Harmonizes with Positive Energy in Miami
The Gale Hotel Miami, located in the heart of Miami, has recently upgraded its audio systems in its three restaurants on the 9th floor and two restaurants on the first floor, thanks to a partnership between Interlink Group and Designer Digital Systems. The project, which was planned and executed by Designer Digital Systems, utilised LEA Professional amplifiers to provide high-quality sound, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Designer Digital Systems chose LEA Professional amplifiers for their size-to-power ratio and the flexibility of full DSP for crossover and speaker tuning of all major brands. Eight CS704 amplifiers power the three restaurants on the 9th floor, providing a total of 22,400 watts at 70V. Five CS704 amplifiers were installed in the mezzanine MDF room for the restaurants on the 1st floor, offering 14,000 watts at 70V.
The Connect Series 704, used in the project, provides 700 watts per channel and supports Hi-Z (70V or 100V) and Lo-Z selectable by channel. The amplifier size and power were major considerations due to requirements to power many speakers at high SPL for parties.
The Connect Series includes 96kHz DSP, which enhances audio performance and system versatility. Additionally, the LEA Cloud technology enables AV teams to remotely control and monitor amplifiers from anywhere, increasing convenience and efficiency.
One of the project's challenges was the drywall installation error on the 1st floor, which was overcome using LEA's Smart Power Bridge technology, saving a main zone in the restaurant.
Designer Digital Systems also planned to use a variety of speakers from major brands, and LEA had speaker tunings for all of them, making the project easier. Alaimo, from Designer Digital Systems, Inc., expressed enjoyment in working with LEA amplifiers and their tech support team.
Interlink Group was hired by the Gale Hotel Miami to design the audio systems for the five restaurants. The project developer had a more expensive design from a different company, but chose Designer Digital Systems' design with LEA amplifiers due to cost-effectiveness.
The audio systems for the restaurants were built and programmed by Designer Digital Systems. Due to space constraints, there is only space for one full-sized rack on the 9th floor and one in the mezzanine MDF room. Despite these limitations, Designer Digital Systems deployed 13 Connect Series 704 amplifiers for the project.
