Vintage Toys: Rare Finds Fetch Thousands at Auctions

Vintage toys are fetching impressive prices at auctions and among collectors. Rare, undamaged, and well-preserved items can command five-figure sums, with some even reaching up to 12,000 euros.

Take, for instance, the Night Watchman Smurf from 1979. In pristine condition, it can sell for a staggering 12,000 euros. Similarly, the Exadon dragon from 1981, a terrifying castle guardian, can reach up to 5,000 euros. Other retro favourites like Furbys from the 90s can command up to 300 euros, with special editions fetching as much as 1,000 euros.

Durability plays a significant role in a toy's future value. Diddl sheets, for example, can sell for up to 50 euros for rare blocks, thanks to their longevity. Even old toys in original packaging can significantly increase their worth due to their rarity and undamaged condition.

From vintage Pokémon cards to limited-edition Tamagotchis and collectible Beanie Babies, old toys are proving to be valuable investments. With proper care and preservation, even everyday playthings can become sought-after collectibles, fetching impressive sums in the future.
