Vuori debuts new flagship store in New York City
Vuori Opens First East Coast Flagship Store in New York's SoHo
Vuori, the popular direct-to-consumer activewear brand, has made its mark on the East Coast with the opening of its first flagship store in New York City's trendy SoHo neighbourhood.
Spanning a generous 5,000 square feet, this new store is more than just a retail space. It serves as a hub for community gatherings, hosting yoga classes, local art shows, and various events.
This expansion is a result of Vuori's funding round a year ago, during which it raised $400 million from the SoftBank Vision Fund 2. The funds have been utilised not only for the physical store openings in the U.S., but also to reach customers in Europe and the Asia Pacific region.
Following the opening of a location in London last month, Vuori's New York store marks its first physical storefront outside of the U.S. The brand plans to host similar gatherings at its New York location, aiming to bring locals together in ways that celebrate and inspire a healthy, happy life.
In addition to the U.S. and the U.K., Vuori is reaching customers via e-commerce, wholesale, and retail channels in Canada, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Middle East, among other regions. The brand has established wholesale partnerships with retailers like Barry's Boot camp, Selfridges, and Bever.
The store offers men's and women's apparel from the brand, providing a physical shopping experience for its loyal customers. Vuori's store locations are not solely about selling products; they are spaces where people live, work, shop, discover new brands, and have fun.
While the exact number of new stores Vuori plans to open over the next five years is not publicly disclosed, the brand has expressed its ambition to open more than 100 stores during this period. Other activewear brands like Lululemon and Beyond Yoga have experimented with using stores as customer workout spaces, and it seems Vuori is following suit, making its stores more than just retail spaces.
The funding from SoftBank was used to reward early shareholders, as stated by Vuori CEO Joe Kudla. The funding round pushed Vuori's valuation to $4 billion, reflecting the brand's growing popularity and success in the activewear market.
Vuori is excited to bring its brand to New York and its SoHo neighbourhood, and it looks forward to serving new and existing customers. The New York Vuori store is set to become a vibrant and active hub in the city, reflecting the brand's commitment to community, wellness, and a happy, healthy lifestyle.
