Renovation of Public Spaces Kicks Off in Tomsk Oblast Under "Infrastructure for Life" Project
In a recent update on his Telegram channel, Tomsk's Governor Vladimir Mazur announced the commencement of public space renovation projects across the region under the national project "Infrastructure for Life." Work has reportedly begun on 6 locations including Tomsk, Seversk, Sstrejov, Asinovsk, Pervomaisk, and Tomsk District.
From 2019 to 2024, over 320 public spaces such as parks, squares, sports facilities, and stadiums have been renovated in the region. In 2024, work was carried out on 48 projects with 374.9 million rubles allocated according to the national project. In 2025, financing amounted to 310 million rubles, as planned for the improvement of more than 40 public spaces.
Mazur revealed details about the work being carried out in Tomsk, where preparations for renovating the park near OKB on Ivan Chernukh Street, the creation of a skate park on Ivanovskaya Street, and a mini-football pitch on Ivaanovskaya Ploshchadka are underway. Crews are currently clearing the sites.
In Seversk, work has begun on renovating a park adjacent to a building on Prospekt Kommunistichesky, 77. Here, preparations for the removal of old infrastructure and the foundation for pedestrian walkways are underway. In Sstrejov, work has started on renovating the public area in front of the "Russkii Stil" building and homes No. 429 and No. 436. Demolition of old tiles and equipment is currently ongoing.
Mazur added that, in 2025, a total of 49 public spaces will be renovated in Tomsk Oblast.
Under the "Infrastructure for Life" project, outdoor-living spaces in Tomsk Oblast are set to receive an improvement, with particular focus on Tomsk's parks and public areas. Work on the park near OKB on Ivan Chernukh Street, a skate park on Ivanovskaya Street, and a mini-football pitch on Ivaanovskaya Ploshchadka is underway, all contributing to enhancing the local lifestyle and home-and-garden environment.
