Year-end Retrospective of Animal Park Fauna in 2024, Expressing Gratitude to All Backers

In the heart of Solingen, Germany, the Fauna Zoo has faced challenges and triumphs throughout the year. The zoo, home to a diverse array of animals, has received significant support from various local organisations and individuals.

One of the most notable events was the dog show organised by Hundesalon Baldur. The zoo was given the opportunity to present themselves, and as a result, they received a share of the proceeds. This event not only raised funds for the zoo but also brought more awareness to the zoological park.

Firma Amefa showed their support by donating wonderful zoo children's cutlery, which can still be purchased at the cash register. The zoo also received offers of practical help from numerous individuals following a flood incident.

Construction measures were efficiently implemented by Ronny Wagner Strahl- und Oberflächentechnik, Stratmann Garten- und Landschaftsbau, Eugen Scalabrin GmbH, and Juvet GmbH Asphaltiertechnik. Zoo2go created an interactive park map at their own expense, further enhancing the visitor experience.

The Schleiminger Brothers collected a substantial sum of donations for the zoo during the 6 Bridges Rally project. Manfred Albrecht GmbH Werkzeugbau und Fertigungstechnik made regular donations to the zoo, demonstrating consistent support.

The city's nature and environmental service and the technical operations of Solingen paved a part of the path at the employee entrance and changed the gradient in the outdoor area. The waffle baking from Frischemarkt Dornseifer and the flea market of Grundschule Westersburg also supported the zoo financially.

The zoo held a Species Conservation Day a week after a devastating event, hiring a young Syrian veterinarian as a volunteer. Scalabrin, Ronny Wagner, and Lieret provided spontaneous and generous help to the zoo over the past three years.

The Otter enclosure was opened at the beginning of the autumn holidays, and the two new residents caused some distress with their "renovations". The Klingenstromers transferred their remaining assets to the zoo after dissolving their association for e-mobility.

Holzhandel Baumgartner provided support to the zoo in various occasions. The zoo received help from Jurtenland at the beginning of the year in material, manual tasks, planning, and implementing the gnome roof. The Giossi Foundation financed the construction of a new second pigsty for the zoo.

Family Luhr ensured a successful tarantula exhibition, while the Gerd Kaimer Citizen's Foundation made it possible for the zoo to renovate and equip their 60-year-old roofing felt pond with new technology. The foundation also financed the construction of the washing bear enclosure.

Raiffeisen-Market Wuppertal collected donations for the zoo during the Christmas season. NABU Solingen, Biodidactics of University Wuppertal, Solingen Beekeepers' Association, City Service Nature and Environment, and DGHT (German Society for Herpetology and Terrarium Studies) helped make the Species Conservation Day a success.

The zoo would like to express their gratitude to all their loyal visitors, members, donors, and supporters, including those who fulfilled the wishes of the animals in the "Advent calendar". Firma Item also helped the zoo with material purchases.

Despite the challenges faced, the Fauna Zoo in Solingen continues to thrive, all thanks to the generous support of its community and local businesses.
