Things have been heating up in the Amur leopard enclosure for quite some time now. Keeper Kitan was loaned from Rotterdam Zoo around six months ago to boost the chances of offspring. Fingers crossed that love blooms for the hopeful leopards!
More scoop:
Michael Ernst, the keen-eyed keeper, has high hopes when gazing into the enclosure of the giant otters. He's putting his money on the ten-year-old "Nacho" and the two-year-old "Caria". "Caria" was even born right here at Leipzig Zoo, while "Nacho" made his way from Denmark via Holland to Saxony. "We've got our hopes pinned on this pairing," Michael shares with MDR cameras. "We believe they'll be welcoming some tiny, cute otter babies in the near future."
Let's hope our little aquatic angels join us soon! Otter babies have the power to thaw even the coldest hearts!
