Lasse noticed a shift in the behavior of the male Eurasian eagle owl. His gaze lingered towards the female owl in a cave, a behavior that piqued the animal keeper's curiosity. "He exhibited a markedly different behavior," explains Lasse to the MDR documentary camera team for "Elephant, Tiger & Co.".
A New Beginning for the Owl Family
The team closely observed the male's behavior and noticed a change. They discovered signs that the female was expecting. Two tiny and lively chicks saw the world in the anticipated period. Lasse affirms, "We were overjoyed! It's been eleven years since we've witnessed such an event, and it's truly a cause for celebration for all of us."
Monitoring from a Distance
The animal keepers, eager to ensure the health of the new family, checked on the chicks briefly. "We didn't want to disturb them too much. Let them do their thing and grow in peace," says Lasse.
